Rules Q&A
- Q: 1. Re Hordes of the Nezumi. You may take this card back into hand from discard "before your turn ends". Is this point in time before or after the point at which you must discard down to 8 cards? In other words: can you pick up Hordes of the Nezumi after you have discarded down to 8, effectively increasing your hand size?
A: "before your turn ends" will always come before drawing during the End Phase and discarding down to your hand size maximum. Martin Lund, "Rules for 14 December 2004", 20 Dec 2004 - Q: Is "before your turn ends" an actual, specific time (i.e. just before you bow and let the the other guy go) or is it anytime before the turn ends?
A: Just like "after" means "immediately after," "before" means "immediately before." Zen Faulkes, "Hordes of the Nezumi", 31 Mar 2005 - Q: Does Hordes of the Nezumi return to your hand before or after you have to discard down to your maximum hand size at the end of the turn?
A: "Before your turn ends" is after the End Phase. Keep it. Zen Faulkes, "Hordes of the Nezumi and discarding at the end of the turn", 25 Mar 2005 - Q: Is focusing considered a cost?
A: No. Zen Faulkes, "Hordes of the Nezumi", 25 Mar 2005 - Q: (H)ow many times can I use this ability in my turn.
A: Point: It's not an ability, it's a trait.
If you have used the card to pay a cost at all during the turn, you get to take it from the discard pile. That's it. It's not once for every time you used it with a cost. Zen Faulkes, "Hordes of the Nezumi query", 25 Mar 2005
