- Q: Ide Sadanobu and City of Gold both produce gold when you're paying for a card, but they don't say the gold has to be spent on that card. Can I spend it on a different card? A: No. You can only buy one card at a time in L5R. Any gold you generate while paying for a card must be spent on that card; it cannot be spent on or saved for another. Rules Q&A
- Q: Player A attacks one of Player B's provinces with Ide Sadanobu, and attacks another province with Moto Latomu. Latomu has a Dai-kyu attached. Player A uses Northern Provinces of the Moto to switch Latomu and Sadanobu, reacting to the movement with Latomu's ranged attack. Can Latomu then combine his ranged attack with that of his Dai-kyu?
A: No; combining is only an option when Ranged Attacks are made as a Battle action (Gold Edition rulebook, pg. 63). Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 24 September 2003", 24 Sep 2003 - Q: Here are examples of what I'm thinking of:
(1) I have an unbowed Utaku Palaces, a Corrupt Mine, and Ide Sadanobu. Moto Zhijiang (12G) is in one of my Provinces.
Can I start paying for Zhijiang with my Stronghold, add in the Corrupt Mine, and decline to use Sabanobu to get to 10G?
A: Only if you have 3g available from somewhere else. Once you've announced that you're bringing out Zhijiang, you must pay the cost. Vaughn Derderian, "Post for June 16, 2003", 16 Jun 2003 - Q: Ide Sadanobu Must be Bowed in conjunction with stronghold?
A: Yes. Sadanobu produces Gold for the same thing that the Stronghold is paying for. Jeff Alexander, "post for 21 August 2002", 22 Aug 2002 - Q: Ide Sadanobu Must be Bowed in conjunction with stronghold?
A: Yes. Sadanobu produces Gold for the same thing that the Stronghold is paying for. Jeff Alexander, "post for 14 August 2002", 15 Aug 2002
