Rules Q&A
- Q: Togashi Shozo Dragon Clan Monk - Tattooed Once per turn, before you draw a card, instead look at a number of cards on the top of your Fate deck equal to one plus the number of Elemental Rings you control and draw one of those of your choice. Leave the remaining cards in their original order.
I have 1 Togashi Shozo in play and 2 Rings in play. Imperial Ambassadorship resolves. How many cards do I look at?
A: You will draw three from the Event. Before any one of those three, you may use Shozo to look at your next three still on the deck and draw one of those instead of the top card. You can potentially see up to five cards if you use Shozo's effect on the last draw. Jeff Alexander, "rules for 16 Feb. 204", 18 Feb 2004 - Q: What if I have 2 Togashi Shozo's and 2 Rings in play and Imperial Ambassadorship resolves? Can I use both effects?
A: Yes, but it doesn't help you see any more cards than using only one Shozo. Jeff Alexander, "rules for 16 Feb. 204", 18 Feb 2004 - Q: Can I play Draw Them Out as a reaction to another player's Imperial Ambassadorship? If I can, does that mean that my opponent only keeps the first card he draws, or does he keep one and discard the other two?
A: Assuming you react to the second card and not the third, he would draw and keep one, draw and discard two, then still choose two of those three cards -- no matter where they are now -- to shuffle back into his deck. Jeff Alexander, "post for 18 September 2002", 19 Sep 2002 - Q: Imperial Ambassadorship: May I look at the top three cards of my Dynasty deck instead of the Fate deck?
A: Will kick to the Rules Junta for 100% certainty. Zen Faulkes, "Imperial Ambassadorship", 15 Feb 2010
