Rules Q&A
- Q: 3. Traits overwrite when you overlay, so does that mean if i have Isawa Kaede Exp. In play and i overlay Exp 2, that now I no longer get the abilty of my shugenja not having to bow to cast kihos in the same army as her, and only get that Ninja cards cost 2 gold to straighten?
That is correct.
It was my understanding that abilities are still inherited, however. Aren't those Kaede's abilities rather than her traits (which I assume are supposed to be "shugenja", "master of the void" etc.).
A: "Ability" means "action": something preceeded with one of the four action type keywords. "Shugenja in the same army as Kaede do not need to bow to perform kiho. Kaede need not bow to perform kiho." is not an ability, it is a trait, so it is not kept when overlaying Kaede Exp2 over Kaede Exp. Jeff Alexander, "post for 19-22 April 2002", 23 Apr 2002 - Q: 3.
