Rulings
- Q: Does Kakita Chiyeko's Reaction let her issue challenges while bowed? How does she work with cards like Judgment? A: Chiyeko basically gets to issue challenges as though she were unbowed at all times. Her Reaction works retroactively. For cards like Judgment, which have a cost of bowing the challenger but no limit on the number of uses per turn, Chiyeko may make an unlimited number of challenges. Rules Q&A
- Q: Q2: Both Judgment and The First One say "bow to issue" which means that bowing is a cost to issue a challenge. It seems logical to assume that if her ability can be used before the bowing it can actually be used any time with the basis of "she is going to duel in the future' reasoning. Or is there a rules based difference?
A: "Before" on a Reaction means "immediately before". "After" means "immediately after". This is based on page 48 of the GE rulebook: "You must take a Reaction as soon as its trigger occurs." Jeff Alexander, "post for 23 May 2003", 29 May 2003 - Q: This came up in a game last night, and since the card has been asked about recently, specifically in regards to the conditional use of the word "can," I need to have this answered:
A 2 Chi personality challenges a 3 Chi personality. The 3 Chi personality strikes.
The 2 Chi personality's player plays Judgment.
Now, if the 3 Chi personality doesn't want to focus, does the other personality still get the option of focusing?
A: Yes. Jeff Alexander, "post for 13 December 2001", 14 Dec 2001
