Rules Q&A
- Q: Shosuro Hawado XP has this ability: Reaction: After a Battle action resolves, if Hawado is at the current battlefield, target a Personality that performed it: Move him from his current location to another.
Am I correct in thinking that this can target the performing Personality at any location, so long as Hawado herself is at the current battlefield?
Examples: 1. Bayushi Keirei XP uses his Battle ability to move himself to a different battlefield, dropping poison tokens along the way, Hawado XP reacts and brings him back to the current battlefield. 2. Kakita Kae uses her Battle ability to move herself home, Hawado XP reacts and drags her back to the battlefield (or to a different battlefield entirely).
Thanks!
A: Reactions are not bound by the Rule of Location, so the target of Hawado's action may be at any location, and may be moved to any (different) location. Alex Jones, "Shosuro Hawado XP", 22 Oct 2012 - Q: Hi,
Need a little answer:
Does the reaction from Dragon's Breath Castle which say's - Reaction: Even if this card is bowed, after engaging at a battlefield at one of your provinces: The Attacker targets and bows one of his Personalities there, can be negeted by Kae's triger??
After a Battle action targets Kae, you may discard the Imperial Favor: If you did, negate Kae's destruction, bowing, and movement from the action's effects.
One more:
If my shugenja personality is dishonorable and I use the Temple of Hotei Limited: Bow your performing Shugenja: Gain 1 Honor. Does he became honorable and I dont gain the honor or does this not count as performing action by this shugenja?
thx for reply:)
Best regards Tom
A: Does the reaction from Dragon's Breath Castle ... can be negeted by Kae's triger?? No. Kae's trait is triggered by her being targetted by a Battle action, whereas Dragon's Breath Castle's ability is a Reaction.
If my shugenja personality is dishonorable and I use the Temple of Hotei Limited: Bow your performing Shugenja: Gain 1 Honor. Does he became honorable and I dont gain the honor or does this not count as performing action by this shugenja? An action from an ability which says "Bow your performing Shugenja" is performed by the Shugenja you bow. Alex Jones, "Kakita Kae vs Dragon's Breath Castle", 18 Jun 2012 - Q: Lady Matsu's Rage - Battle: Choose your performing unbowed attacking Personality, target an enemy card, and discard this card: Bow the target. After the next time (this turn) it straightens, destroy it.
Kakita Kae - After a Battle action targets Kae, you may discard the Imperial Favor: If you did, negate Kae's destruction, bowing, and movement from the action's effects.
I know that I can negate Kae's bowing from Matsu's Rage's Battle action. I just wanted to confirm that if she happens to bow sometime later on but then straightens, that the destruction part of Matsu's Rage's effect would also be negated.
It seems like the destruction should be negated but the delayed timing of the destruction was something that I wanted to check on.
A: Kae's negation lasts for the same duration as the delayed effect, until the turn ends, so she would not be destroyed by Lady Matsu's Rage's delayed effect. Brook Cunningham, "Lady Matsu's Rage vs Kakita Kae", 25 May 2012
