Rules Q&A
- Q: There is a an Apprentice Shinobi on the table and Genmyo has used his ability to turn himself into a Ninja. Does this count as a Ninja action for the Apprentice Shinobi's trait (+1F for each Ninja action performed)?
A: Genmyo's action is not a Ninja action, because when the action is announced, Genmyo does not have the Ninja keyword, so his ability is not a Ninja ability. Alex Jones, "Genmyo and Ninja Actions", 19 Apr 2012 - Q: If I have Apprentice Shinobi in the discard pile, does it get force bonuses from Ninja Actions? (Assuming that I can return it to play via Obfuscation).

Thank you for you answers.
A: No.
Implications of in and out of play: Cards that are not in play or in a resolution, entering-play or focusing area have the following limitations: * Abilities on them may not be used, and triggered traits on them are not triggered. Alex Jones, "Apprentice Shinobi", 22 Sep 2009 - Q: it's about apprentice shinobi thanks, can you remind me where in the rules it says so?
A: Not offhand. Probably try a CTRL-F for "keyword" on the Dropbox PDF. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 25 May 2025
