Discard the top six cards of that player's Fate deck, and discard three cards from the top of your Fate deck for each other player that controls the same Wind(s) as you.

Rules Q&A
- Q: Kaneka's Blockade: Is haveing no wind considered a different wind then anyone with a wind?
A: No. You must target a player with a Wind. Jeff Alexander, "post for 12 May 2003", 13 May 2003 - Q: It says a player supporting a different wind than you, say the person I'm VSing pulls it and I'm not supporting any wind, what happpens then?
A: You do NOT count as having a different Wind from his. He may not target you. Jeff Alexander, "post for 14 October 2002", 15 Oct 2002 - Q: Hi Jeff, Here's an interesting one for you. According to a couple of the sites I've looked at, Rich Wulf has apparently said that players can declare Daigotsu as their wind in storyline events. My question is: Is this considered to be playing a wind for Play purposes (ie. events like Kaneka's Blockade, the Shogun's Fealty) or will it merely be considered for storyline implications.
A: It's just a storyline thing. Mechanically, you have no Wind. Jeff Alexander, "post for 4 September 2002", 5 Sep 2002 - Q: I know that if the revealing player has no wind the event is discarded. What happens if the other player has no wind? Does having no wind make it a different wind? I could've sworn Jeff answered this, but it's neither in the archive or the rulings page.
A: Having no Wind does not count as having a different Wind. You cannot target an opponent with no Wind with Kaneka's Blockade. Jeff Alexander, "post for 22 July 2002", 23 Jul 2002 - Q: * In recent sets, there has been a trend towards increasing the amount of clarification text, which is a good idea. However, some cards as printed still could use more clarity (Kaneka's Blockade, for one.)
A: Well, we try. Kaneka's Blockade is actually both a hit and a miss...it does take into account the fact you might not have a Wind yourself. Jeff Alexander, "post for 19 July 2002", 22 Jul 2002 - Q: I´m playing the Shadowland Horde and not playing with a Wind, what Happens if I reveal Kanekas Blockade?
A: The same thing as if you're playing Kosaten Shiro and not playing with a Wind: you read the last sentence on the card, which says "Discard this Event without resolution if you have no Wind." Jeff Alexander, "post for 10 June 2002", 11 Jun 2002 - Q: <forgive references to that other game>
A: There are other games? Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 24 May 2002, Part 2", 25 May 2002 - Q: When Kaneka's Blockade resolves, do the discarded cards come from the top of the Fate Deck, or do you go through the deck and find the 6 you want to discard?
A: Triple A question: "Asked, answered, archived." See http://l5r.alderac.com/rulings . The top only. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 24 May 2002, Part 2", 25 May 2002 - Q: Greetigns All,
I have a query about Kaneka's Blockade.
Just to clarify, regardless of who has to discard Fate cards, they are discarded from the top of the deck, right?
A: Right. Jeff Alexander, "post for 1 April 2002", 2 Apr 2002 - Q: Assume that I have a Wind (any one, it doesn't matter) in play and my opponent has no Wind in play. Am I correct in assuming that, if I target my opponent per the Event, it would have no effect, because "no Wind" isn't the same as "a different Wind"?
A: You are more or less correct. Technically, you couldn't even target your opponent because he doesn't meet the targeting criteria. Brook Cunningham, "Kaneka's Blockade and "Different Wind"", 13 May 2010
