Rules Q&A
- Q: A Personality or Follower is performing an action if its controller is the player taking the action, and any of these things is true:
* The action comes from an ability on the Personality or Follower. * The action comes from an ability on an Item or Spell in the Personality’s unit. * The Personality or Follower was targeted by targeting in the ability’s constraints block (between the two colons).
A: Kitsune Den does not target any Personality in its Constraints Block. All that section contains is "Destroy this card." Martin Lund, "Kanshi v/s Kitsune Den", 31 Jul 2007 - Q: Kanshi reads:
Is this considered to be a cost for the purposes of effects like Daidoji Murasaki's Recon Open action?
Thank you.
A: No. Zen Faulkes, "Kanshi's cost", 30 Jun 2007 - Q: I play any political action (does not matter which one) with a Samurai or Courtier. My opponent responds by playing Kanshi. I choose NOT to negate the political actions effects. (...) I would lose 5 honor. Can I react to this honorlos by "seppuku'ing" my Samurai/Courtier(?)
A: The rulebook action for seppuku (Lotus rules, pg. 62) allows it to be performed "before you lose Honor as a direct result of an action or effect that targeted this Personality" -- your Personality was not targeted by Kanshi --
"or from an action he performed" -- your Personality did not perform Kanshi.
