Rules Q&A
- Q: For Keeper of Air & Co., the card reads to return "all rings to their owners hands TO get a ring." Can this be done if there are no rings in play?
A: Yes. If you have 0 Rings, then 0 = All your Rings. Martin Lund, "Rules for 18-21 August 2004", 29 Aug 2004 - Q: If the "next kiho" is the RA on the Keeper of Air, does she now have two RA actions?
A: Based on the standing Errata / Rulings in the Archive on Blessings of Isawa, it only applies to Kiho Action Cards. You can't attach Keeper of Air to itself, for instance.
What a messy, messy card. I hope we never see anything resembling it hit print ever again. It is just a giant disaster waiting to happen, both in terms of rules and game balance.
End Rant
I'm not bitter folks. Nope. Not bitter at all ... Martin Lund, "Rules for 9 July 2004", 13 Jul 2004 - Q: Keeper of Air:
1. Do you have to discard any Rings to get the Ring of Air? This ability is down as a trait, and it seems unspecific to me as to whether or not the removal of the rings to their owners hands is a cost of the effect.
A: It is definitely a cost. I do not believe you need to have any Rings in play to fulfill that cost, however. Martin Lund, "Rules for 8 June 2004", 10 Jun 2004 - Q: [OBH]
RE: KEEPER OF AIR (or any of the other four keepers) can I put 0 rings into my hand to search my deck for a respective ring?
2. If I'm using Rosoku sensei, may I put it into my hand for any of the Keepers entering play?
A: 1. Yes, but only if you contol 0.
2. Given the above answer... don't. 😉 (Also, Rosoku is only a Ring for actions, not traits.) Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 25 Jul 2026
