- Card Text
- After you reveal cards in your Provinces at the start of your turn, if this Event is face-up in one of them, you may search your Dynasty deck for a Fortification. Recruit it attached to this Province paying less Gold equal to half its cost, rounded up, and after this trait resolves, you may reshuffle this Event into your Dynasty Deck instead of discarding it normally.

Rulings
- Its reduction of the Fortification's cost applies before all other cost-reducing effects. [FAQ 3.5] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 68
- "It resolves every time it reveals including for multiple players." [DW, email, 9/25/97] Accumulated Rulings, February 8, 2000, p. 15
- Clarified: resolves every time it arises for every player. Text Change & Errata List, February 15, 2000, p. 11
- Q: Architects of the Wall lets me fetch a Fortification from my deck and cuts its cost in half. Is this before or after other cost-reducing effects? A: The Event "sees" the Fortification first, so its cost break is applied first. Legend of the Five Rings FAQ, Version 3.6.2, May 1998, p. 6
Rules Q&A
- Q: 3. For the event Architects of The Wall does it resolve EVERY time for each player or is for only the person who revealed the event?
A: "Every time for every player". [MRP, Pearl Edition] Jeff Alexander, "post for 3 April 2002", 4 Apr 2002 - Q: Player A on his turn resolves Troll Raiders.
Player B on his turn has Architects of the Wall come up.
The problem arises when reading Architects' last setence. This event resolves every time for every player. This setence seems to trump Troll Raiders. Does it? It was ruled that Troll Raiders Trumped Architects, but inquiring minds would like to know for sure.
A: I think that Troll Raiders should trump Architects. The last sentence on Architects is pretty clearly intended to allow the Event to break the one-time Event rule, and I don't think that, despite its very general wording, it should be allowed to trump things like Troll Raiders and Avoid Fate.
