Rules Q&A
- Q: Kisada's Fist, as of Diamond Edition, does not target, as there is never a choice involved. Of course, it's not a Diamond-legal card.. but it can now save people in Open.
Decoy can save people from death in Diamond, tho.
A: Neither of those work, because Wedge destroys the unit and all the cards are destroyed at once. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 15 December 2003", 15 Dec 2003 - Q: Can Feign Death, Kisada's Fist or Kisada's Shrine negate the destruction of a wedge?
A: No (http://l5r.com/ccg/faq.html#s4, Reign of Blood rulesheet). Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 14 December 2003, Part 2", 15 Dec 2003 - Q: Can Kisada's Fist save a Wedged Personality as the ability to save someone is a trait?
A: Kisada's Shrine has the word "Reaction" printed on it in big black bold type. No.
People, let me give you all a little free advice. (Now, I don't do this for just anyone, but y'all seem like nice folks.) And that advice is:
Stop trying to cheese out of blowing up your Personalities affected by Wedge! The Rules Junta won't let you! Accept it! Move on! Find other combos! Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 21 November 2003, Part 2", 22 Nov 2003 - Q: Here is the question, quite tricky:
Kisada's Fist and To Do What We Must.
I know that you can't protect your unit from your own TDWWM because the destruction is a cost.
But
If your OPPONENT target your unit with a TDWWM, can you bow Kisada's Fist to prevent your personnality from being destroyed. As I read the card, as Kisada's Fist react BEFORE the personality is destroyed, you can bow him, then all cards in the unit except the personality is destroyed. Am I reading the card wrong?
A: No. That's exactly what happens. Jeff Alexander, "post for 30 October 2002", 31 Oct 2002 - Q: The problem is, if it's an effect, not a cost, you can use cards like The Golden Obi of the Sun Goddess and Kisada's Fist to negate the destruction of your personality, without the other effects being cancelled, as they are with TDDWM, for example.
A: Is that a problem, or just a good combo? Jeff Alexander, "post for 10 September 2002", 11 Sep 2002
