Rules Q&A
- Q: If Kitsune Gohei is in the same army as Kyofu, can he use his ability a second time?
A: If he can straighten (or avoid bowing the first time), yes. Jeff Alexander, "post for 11 December 2002", 12 Dec 2002 - Q: Kitsune Gohei's ability is considered to be use of fear, but is he/it considered to have a fear ability?
A: Yes. Jeff Alexander, "post for 4 December 2002", 5 Dec 2002 - Q: If Kitsune Gohei is in the same army as Kyofu, can he use his ability a second time?
A: Yes, though you'll still need to straighten him somehow. Jeff Alexander, "post for 4 December 2002", 5 Dec 2002 - Q: Kitsune Gohei's ability reads as follows: "Battle: Bow to destroy all followers in a target unit. This is considered a Fear effect." Face of Fear reads "Reaction: Play this card immediately after producing a Fear effect to have it effect a personality leading a unit as if s/he were a follower." So does this mean that Kitsune Gohei + Face of Fear will wipe out any unit not immune to fear?
A: That's exactly what it means. Jeff Alexander, "post for 21 August 2002", 22 Aug 2002 - Q: But that brings up another question: is Kitsune Gohei undead (being a "member of the lurching dead" sort of implies being undead - or is there a difference)?
A: He is not Undead. Go by what's on the card. Jeff Alexander, "post for 15 January 2002", 16 Jan 2002 - Q: The traits on Kitsune Gohei match those given to the Follower created by the Walking Horror scroll. It's rather difficult to maintain one's connection to the kami when you're a card-carrying member of the lurching dead.
Jeff A.
Hm. Then I wonder why he doesn't have the "Undead" trait... ;)
A: Yeah, I know, I know. But the original Black Scroll didn't create an Undead Follower, so... Jeff Alexander, "post for 11 January 2002", 12 Jan 2002 - Q: rule question
Kitsune Gohei Battle: Bow to destroy all Followers in one opposing unit. This is a Fear effect.
Used with
The Face of Fear Action: Play this card when one of your cards creates Fear. The Fear affects Personalities as if they were Followers.
I think this kills the personality and all. Just blow up the the Unit!!!!!
A: You are correct! Jeff Alexander, "post for 10 January 2002", 11 Jan 2002 - Q: Kitsune Gohei supposedly used the Black Scroll "The Walking Horror of Fu Leng" and became "The Walking Horror of Fu Leng" (is this poetic justice or what). This implies that Kitsune Gohei was a shugenja. Why doesn't his card have the Shugenja trait (is it because "Walking Horrors" cannot be shugenja and, if so, can we bring this up to the Rokugan Equal Rights for Walking Horrors Tribunal)?
A: The traits on Kitsune Gohei match those given to the Follower created by the Walking Horror scroll. It's rather difficult to maintain one's connection to the kami when you're a card-carrying member of the lurching dead. Jeff Alexander, "post for 10 January 2002", 11 Jan 2002 - Q: You can bow Kitsune Gohei to destroy a personality that does not have unbowed cards attached.
That is correct.
I've been gone for awhile so I'm not sure if this has been dinged. Jeff don't you have to bow Kintsune Gohei to use his fear ability? So how can I bow him twice?
A: I've already corrected myself on that one. I was wrong. He can't. Jeff Alexander, "post for 18 December 2001", 19 Dec 2001 - Q: You can bow Kitsune Gohei to destroy a personality that does not have unbowed cards attached.
That is correct.
Are you sure about that? The cost for Gohei's effect is bowing, and the cost for the Citadel effect of affecting the personality also requires bowing. How can he do both at the exact same time?
A: It's not my week for Shadowlands cards, is it?
No, Kitsune Gohei can't bow twice in the same action. He can't be used with the Citadel's special effect. Jeff Alexander, "post for 12 December 2001", 13 Dec 2001
