Rules Q&A
- Q: "Soul of..." Question
Kitsune Shudo is aligned to Yoritomo's Alliance. Kitsune Ryukan (soul of Kitsune Shudo) is not.
For the purposes of building a Gold legal deck, if I use 3xKitsune Shudo does he keep his Y.A. alignment?
A: No. He is played as Kitsune Ryukan in every way. Jeff Alexander, "post for 6 March 2002", 7 Mar 2002 - Q: The card is, however, bowed, and as per the AOF rulebook, you cannot target your bowed cards with actions. So, no, I don't believe you would be able to get the bonus.
The actual battle action is a part of Kitsune Ryukan though, so wouldnt it still work? I suppose the question is, does the action target Ryukan or the infantry.
A: Choosing which action to use is not a targeting decision. [AOF rulebook p. 46] Besides, it doesn't matter if Ryukan is targeting himself or not. If he were bowed, he couldn't use his action due to other rules. Jeff Alexander, "post for 19 February 2002", 20 Feb 2002 - Q: If I have medium infantry attached to Kitsune Ryukan and a Voitagi bows out the medium infantry with it's fear 3 effect, can I still use Ryukan's battle action to copy the force of the medium infantry as a force bonus?
A: Yes. He will gain +3F (assuming normal Medium Infantry stats). Jeff Alexander, "post for 15 February 2002", 16 Feb 2002 - Q: The card is, however, bowed, and as per the AOF rulebook, you cannot target your bowed cards with actions.
A: You cannot target your own bowed *Personalities* with your actions. [AOF rulebook p. 46] Targeting one of your own bowed Followers is legal. Jeff Alexander, "post for 15 February 2002", 16 Feb 2002
