Rules Q&A
- Q: 4.) Are terrains a type of battle action or their own classification of action? Meaning, can you cancel a terrain with Know the Enemy and/or use One Life, One Action on them?
A: A Terrain is a type of Action card in much the same way as a Weapon is a type of Item and a Retainer is a type of Holding. Anything that works against Battle actions or even Action cards in general will work on them. Jeff Alexander, "post for 30 April 2002", 1 May 2002 - Q: If you discard a "Burning Your Essence" or a "Let The Spirit Guide You" to use "Know The Enemy", is the focus value 0 or the modified focus?
A: 0 for Burning Your Essence, modified for Let Your Spirit Guide You. LYSGY gives the higher value for any use of the Tactician trait, whereas BYE is only a 6 when used for a Tactician Force bonus (or an ability printed or copied onto the Personality card). Jeff Alexander, "post for 29 January 2002", 30 Jan 2002 - Q: If your oppenent is playing Superior Tactics or Divisionary Tactics to destroy your Deadly Ground, can you use Know the Enemy to cancel the destroying Battle Action?
A: No, because Deadly Ground is still in effect and Know the Enemy is an action that doesn't meet Deadly Ground's play restriction. Jeff Alexander, "post for 9 January 2002", 10 Jan 2002 - Q: If I bow a tactician and use Know the Enemy to cancel a To Do What You Must, is the personality that destroyed itself still destroyed?
A: Under the Gold Edition MRP of To Do What We Must, the destruction of the player's own unit is a cost. The entire unit will stay dead. Jeff Alexander, "post for 17 December 2001", 17 Dec 2001
