Rules Q&A
- Q: 1/If I play Kokujin's Daisho and destroy the personality card created by No Victory to it, will the Daisho gain +6F/+5C ? Basically, do the personality card have printed stats ?
A: The Archive entry under Tokens should apply to this situation cleanly:
"Treat references to "printed" force as "base" force for tokens. [ZF, 7 June 2000]" (Accumulated Rulings, "Tokens") Martin Lund, "Rules for 17 January 2005", 21 Jan 2005 - Q: If I attach Kokujin's Daisho to a Courtier with 3 Chi, can I Rhetoric the 4-honor loss to my opponent using that same Courtier? (Does the +1C bonus occur before the honor loss?)
A: Kokujin's Daisho must enter play before its trait causes you an honor loss. Consequently, its stat bonuses will also be in effect. Martin Lund, "Rules for 29 June 2004", 2 Jul 2004 - Q: When Attaching Kokujin's Daisho to a Personality can I sacrifice the Personality I am attaching it to, play feign death, and then the Personality would be bowed, dishonored, with the daisho attached and the daisho would have a force and chi bonus equal to the Personality's force and chi?
A: "Cards attached to the Personality are not returned to play" (Feign Death card text). Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 28 November 2003", 28 Nov 2003 - Q: Let's say I play The Anvil's Blessing on you. The item I wish to give you is Kokujin's Daisho. According to The Anvil's Blessing, I pay the costs for the item. But once I pay the costs, do the effects occur before or after it actually becomes in your possession. Or in other words, I pay the gold cost of Kokujin's Daisho, so do I lose 4 honor or do you lose 4 honor?
A: You do. You put the card into play (Gold Edition rulebook, pg. 25). Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 15 October 2003", 16 Oct 2003 - Q: Can you use the Anvil of despair with Kokujin's Daisho, killing two personalities, and add both of the personalities force and chi bonuses to it?
A: Yes. Jeff Alexander, "post for 8 May 2003", 9 May 2003 - Q: i'm a phoenix player and i defend one of my provinces with sesaru, 2 kanjiros and another three (Personalities) against 4 lions with tactician trait. in the middle of a battle the lion play rain of death and kill sezaru and a kokujin daisho atached to danjuro.
danjuro can bow to redirect the target on sezaru or it be an illegal target because he has attachead the Kokujin's Daisho.?
later i play ancient battlefield and i gain the battle, when the delay terrain resolves he target a courtier in his home an play misdirection changing the target that i choose (in this case i choose to bring back sezaru) for an otomo taneji dead in the same battle.
he can do this target changin with misdirection or not
A: The general answer to 99% of all redirection questions: Could those have been picked as legal targets in the first place (Diamond rules, pg. 74)?
In the first case, assuming the second ability of Rain of Death was used, Danjuro could not have originally been picked, so he cannot redirect it to him.
In the second case, you could have picked someone else, so redirecting the action is legal. Zen Faulkes, "Ancient Battlefield and Misdirection", 25 Mar 2005
