Rules Q&A

• Q: If I am able to return Koutetsu Meiyo into my hand, thus making it face down [and out-of-play], will it 'forget' that it already gained me honor this game and allow me to use its ability again?
A: I added the bit in brackets above; it, like being face-down, is a given for being in your hand, but it's equally pertinent. Brook Cunningham, "Koutetsu Meiyo returned to hand", 14 Sep 2008
• Q: I say no, since it explicity states '' first time each game'' but, I would like to know.
A: But the answer is "Yes, Koutestsu Meiyo would gain you the Honor again if you returned it to your hand and re-attached it."
The Tracking Rule will indeed cause it to "forget" that it had ever been in play this game. Imagine if the Koutetsu was not Unique. Should you return it to your hand or deck, it could no longer be tracked in such an area (face-down and out-of-play), so there is no way it could be verified that the next one you played should or should not gain you Honor if you still had to abide by the restriction on its trait. This is the reason for the Tracking Rule, and it applies to all cards, Unique or not, for the sake of consistency. Brook Cunningham, "Koutetsu Meiyo returned to hand", 14 Sep 2008
• Q: Hi!
Commanding Favor Text This card enters play in your home. Discarding this card from your home counts as discarding the Imperial Favor to pay a cost.
Koutetsu Meiyo Armor • Unique This Personality has a minimum Chi of 5. Can only attach to a Crane Clan Personality. After the first time each game you attach this card: Gain Honor equal to this Personality's base Personal Honor. Political Limited: Bow this card: Take the Imperial Favor.
I have Commanding Favor in my home. I lobby for the Favor, and uses it discard a card and draw a card Limited ability. I bow the Koutetsu Meiyo to take the Favor.
Can I still use the Imperial Favor 2 more times?
  Thanks!
A: Yes, the favor may be used any number of times per turn.
Note that the default favor actions are once per turn, so you would not be able to cycle another card until next turn. Chris Fuchs, "SE Imperial Favor", 4 Aug 2007
