Rules Q&A
- Q: Subject: Straightening Ik'chda
Bayushi Loïc said "There http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=57528 it is said that Horiuchi Rikako's straightening ability is conditional, "it may straighten the card or it may not", therefore it can't be used while Rikako is bowed since it won't unconditionnaly straighten her.
What about Ik'chda please ? Can he straigthen himself while he is bowed, using his own ability and targeting himself ? If yes, does the difference with Rikako's ability come from its initial targeting requirement ? If not, is this ability considered conditional because it could target any other Stained Paw Tribe card (such as a fellow Mak'irtch) and thus it would not straighten Ik'chda ?
Thanks."
I do hope this doesn't count as Forum Necromancy, but I'd really like to get an answer to this. I know the MRP of Yogo Rieko now says "even if bowed" but this poor Rat didn't get an MRP! Any word?
A: Under Samurai Edition rules, Ik'chda cannot use his ability while bowed. Zen Faulkes, "Straightening Ik'chda", 12 Jun 2008 - Q: Are Regions in the current battle considered opposing cards?
A: Lotus rules, pg. 74: "Provinces, and cards and tokens attached to them, are not in armies and do not oppose anything." Zen Faulkes, "O'chin and Mak'irtch", 15 Feb 2006 - Q: Can Mak'irtch give followers to ratling followers?
A: No. This one's going to have to go into the Archive... Zen Faulkes, "O'chin and Mak'irtch", 15 Feb 2006 - Q: Mak'irtch
Quote:
Limited: Once per turn, target a number of Ratlings up to the number of different Tribe traits on cards in play. Give each one a 1F Ratling Creature Follower Token.
Can I target a Ratling more than once (i.e. give one personality 2+ followers)?
A: Not in one turn. Zen Faulkes, "Mak'irtch targeting question", 9 Apr 2005 - Q: If Mak'irtch is killed, and he Feigns Death, is he considered to have "entered the discard pile" for this ability?
A: Yes. Zen Faulkes, "Mak'irtch and Feign Death", 27 Mar 2005 - Q: I was thinking about this, because feign death doesn't prevent destruction, it just returns the card to play(.)
A: Incorrect. The Personality fully hits the discard pile and is fully destroyed. Zen Faulkes, "Mak'irtch and Feign Death", 27 Mar 2005 - Q: [LE] are the followers created by Mak'irtch ‘cards’ for the purposes of receiving +1 from Ratling Conjuror?
A: LE Ratling Conjuror's bonus does not specify "cards".
EDIT: Also, yes they ARE cards per his MRP in Tomorrow. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 22 Dec 2025
