Rules Q&A
- Q: Referencing this post: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=83945#p1148462
The question stated that there were no units at the current battlefield, so moving a commander OTHER than the performing one wouldn't work. The rule of location would require that the performing commander needs to get to battlefield by the end of the action.
A: If the performing Commander is at home, the only legal target is, indeed, himself. Alex Jones, "March Beyond Hope move performing commander", 15 Oct 2010 - Q: (C)an i having no units at the current battlefield target an unbowed commander and move other BOWED commander at home ?
A: If you mean move a bowed Commander from home to the current battlefield, yes. Nothing on March Beyond Hope prevents it. (Are you thinking of the really old "Can't target your own cards with actions" rule? If so, we got rid of that years ago.)
If you meant something else... well, you'll have to clarify. Zen Faulkes, "March Beyond Hope move performing commander", 14 Oct 2010 - Q: - Does the personality has to be at home to be targeted by this strategy ?
A: No. The only requirement is that he have been in a battle at another Province. Brook Cunningham, "Forced March VS March Beyond Hope", 2 Apr 2010 - Q: - Would this action resolve if the targeted personality has already been in the attacking side during battle resolution this attack phase ?
A: The wording of Forced March is not specific enough (without receiving errata) to get around the current Rule against moving into an attacking army after having already been on an attacking side during a resolution. So, in such a case, the movement would fail. Brook Cunningham, "Forced March VS March Beyond Hope", 2 Apr 2010
