Rules Q&A
- Q: White Shore Plain:
White Shore Plain Delayed Terrain Battle: Each Tactician who has not used the Tactician trait for this battle gains a Force bonus equal to his or her Chi. 4 Gold
Matsu Agetoki Exp.
Lion Clan Samurai. Experienced. Unique. Cavalry. This unit may not be targeted with Ranged Attacks. While Agetoki is in your army, you may play terrain cards face-down. Any face-down terrain card produces no effects until it is revealed at the end of the battle action phase.
When do you pay for White Shore Plain with Agetoki's Ability?
A: When you play it. Jeff Alexander, "post for 27 February 2003", 28 Feb 2003 - Q: Can I play [Pearl Magic] if there is a opposing personality with Kitsuki's K. Journal or with Iuchi Daiyu or Matsu Agetoki?
A: This one is under discussion by the Rules Junta. The old answer was yes, but that may change. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 8 August 2001", 10 Aug 2001 - Q: Okay. Earlier (last week i think) while following a differnt thread I became confused on the ruling for Reactions.
From what I read, I came to believe that you could not play multiples of the same reaction on the same trigger. For example:
Matsu Agetoki is attacking a province. Agetoki takes the province and goes home. Back home in his fief are 3 Ikoma Kaokus. As a reaction to Agetoki taking a province, one of the Kaokus bow to give Agetoki a permanent +1/+1. The other two can not because their "Reaction" has already been played once.
A: Not quite. The restriction on Reactions reads as follows:
You can play multiple copies of a Reaction card, in turn, in reaction to one trigger effect, but you cannot use a Reaction on a single card more than once per trigger. [SW rulebook, pg. 50]
So, because each Kaoku's Reaction is coming from a seperate card, all three are legal. However, if Kaoku's Reaction didn't bow him, you would only be able to use it once in reaction to Agetoki's province kill. Vaughn Derderian, "Rules for November 13th", 13 Nov 2000
