Rules Q&A
- Q: I was looking at the rulings for Memorial that just came up, and then my eye glanced over to my copy of Doji Hoturi (nonexperienced) who can turn duels into duels of personal honor. And then I hatched an evil plot. Or tried to at least.
My scenario is this:
If I'm in a duel with Hoturi (Doesn't really matter if I'm playing Hoturi or if I'm the poor fool dueling Hoturi), and focus a lot of cards, then the focus values of those cards get added to his personal honor, not his chi, right?
A: Right. Jeff Alexander, "post for 30 July 2002", 31 Jul 2002 - Q: When a samurai personality commits seppuku, can this trigger off something which targets a dying personality, like a 'Memorial' which only gets triggered when the personality dies? In other words, with a Memorial in play, can a player have a samurai commit seppuku, and have a net gain/loss of 0 honor?
A: Samurai seppuku destroys the samurai, so a Reaction such as Memorial is legal. Jeff Alexander, "post for 29 July 2002", 30 Jul 2002 - Q: Does that mean then that Kakita Shijin and Memorial won't work with No One Wins active?
A: They work. Those gains aren't from destroying cards. Jeff Alexander, "post for 7 November 2001", 8 Nov 2001
