Erratum: There is no cost reduction for having the Ring of the Void in play. [Erratum, JA, email, 5 January 2003] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 53
Erratum: Mempo of the Void: Printed Gold cost no longer changes while you control the Ring of the Void. [errata] Legend of the Five Rings FAQ, April 26, 2004, p. 17
Q: Say I'm holding the Ring of the Void and some other cards, and I'm forced to discard my entire hand. Can I discard them one at a time, holding the Ring for last so I can play it? A: No. You discard your entire hand at once. It is also illegal to use a discard-and-redraw effect, such as the Mempo of the Void, to discard your entire hand except the Ring and then play the Ring before drawing your replacement cards. The Imperial Herald, Vol. 1, Issue 4, p. 9

Yup, had to scratch my head on this one since the answer looked intuitively obvious. Then again, we end up getting some people asking being anal about stuff like this. Just one hiccup, the following lost the part about their GC being set to 0 Gunsen of Water #cardid=2923 Armor of Earth #cardid=438 Mempo of the Void #cardid=5023
A: Yeah, those three were reprinted in Diamond, and had to be errata'd fairly early on... https://oracleofthevoid.com/#game=l5r,#cardid=3495 Alex Jones, "Oracle of the Void #rules", 3 Oct 2022
