- Erratum: Reads, "Moon and Sun Each player may search his Dynasty discard pile for an Event, show it to all players, and shuffle it into his deck. Each Event reshuffled this way that has not already had its maximum number of resolutions changed by other effects may resolve two times this game instead of once." Rules Q&A
- Q: If an event has resolved twice with on going effects (from say, Moon and Sun) would a player need one ot two Shrines of the Sun to remove it's effects completely?
A: Two, because Shrine of the Sun negates effects from a given *card*. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 20 November 2003", 21 Nov 2003 - Q: If an event has resolved twice thanks to Moon and Sun, and then gets reshuffled by Shrine of the Sun, which effects are canceled : only the effects created when the event resolved for the second time, or all the effects.
A: Shrine of the Sun says, "End all ongoing effects of *that card*" (card text). So it snuffs all effects that physical copy generated.
If two different copies of the same event resolved, the answer would be different. Hm. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 10 September 2003, Part 2", 11 Sep 2003 - Q: 2. If the event Moon and Sun is revealed and I reshuffle Suspicions, and it comes up again will they loose two honor a turn?
A: Yes, in two separate 1-point losses. Jeff Alexander, "post for 3 April 2002", 4 Apr 2002 - Q: Heh heh heh. Evil thought... If you're playing Open, and Moon and Sun allows Suspicions to resolve a second time, then you can use Nagori + Diplomatic Apprentice. Nagori reacts and the Diplomatic Apprentice bows for one instance, and then Nagori reacts and bows for the second. Nasty.
A: Perfectly legal. Jeff Alexander, "post for 29 January 2002", 30 Jan 2002 - Q: I was looking in the accumulated rulings at http://www.planet.net.au/~zfaulkes/rulings.html and found the following ruling:
Under the optional "each Event only happens once" rule, Avoid Fate cannot be played in reaction to the second or later appearance of an Event that has already resolved. [DW, 9/3/96]
Does this mean that if I reshuffle an event, that has successfully resolved, into my deck because of Moon and Sun, my opponent cannot play avoid fate when it resolves the second time?
A: No. That ruling has been outpaced by the flow of the game. When it was made, there was no real way to get an Event to resolve a second time (though I think that right after it was made, someone brought up Architects of the Wall as an exception). Essentially, you can only play Avoid Fate in response to the real, live resolution of an Event. An Event that fizzles due to something preventing it from resolving (including Norikazu Sensei and Troll Raiders) is not a legal trigger for Avoid Fate. Vaughn Derderian, "Rules for January 26th", 27 Jan 2001 - Q: I have a question maybe someone here can help me with
The Hidden Emperor - Event All players have their rightmost Province destroyed. Each player may elect to renounce their ability to declare an attack against a player with fewervProvinces than themselves until the end of the game. Any player who renounces that ability does not have their Province destroyed.
If I play this card and me and my opponent both renounce to save a province. If Moon and Sun comes up and I put The hidden emperor back in, when it resolves we should both just lose a province right? or can you just renounce your ability to attack people with fewer provinces.
A: You both lose a province automatically. You can't renounce something you don't have. Vaughn Derderian, "Rules for November 26th", 26 Nov 2000 - Q: Glory of the Shogun (event)
Moon and Sun (event)
Question: If you use Moon and Sun to recycle Glory of the Shogun, subsequently if you attach a 5g+ attachment, do you draw two cards?
A: Assuming Glory of the Shogun has resolved a second time after being reshuffled (not stated in your original question), then yes, both draw effects will trigger if you attach a card with a base gold cost of 5 or more. Jon Palmer, "Moon and Sun + Glory of the Shogun", 5 Mar 2012 - Q: Can Moon and Sun be used to recycle itself from the discard pile?
A: No, because Events resolve before being discarded. Alex Jones, "Moon and Sun", 8 Feb 2012
