Rules Q&A
- Q: 2.) Moto Chaozhu -- a.) Can I play Rallying Cry and move Chaozhu to another of the defender's province along with another cavalry personality?
A: If you are the Attacker or an ally, Chaozhu returns to your home after his first battle resolves and can no longer move to "an adjacent battle".
If you are the Defender, Chaozhu stays in the Province until the entire attack is over, so he can defend multiple Provinces. (And without needing that Rallying Cry, to boot!) Jeff Alexander, "post for 5 February 2003", 6 Feb 2003 - Q: 2) Let's say I use Delicate Calculations ["Limited: You may attack two players at once this turn. Each player may ally with only one other Player. Each Maneuvers Segment occurs only once. During each battle, only the Province's controller is the Defender. Effects that move cards into or out of battles may move them into or out of any battles in the attack."] to attack players A and B. Are any of player A's provinces ever adjacent to any of player B's provinces for cards that refer to an adjacent province or battle (e.g. Moto Chaozhu, Not Another Step)? Does it matter whether players A and B are sitting next to each other?
A: No and no. Jeff Alexander, "post for 8 January 2002", 9 Jan 2003 - Q: And can Moto Chaozhu use his Tactician ability to move to another province, even if he doesn't have a friend to bring with him?
A: Chaozhu says "Move Chaozhu and up to one of your other Cavalry Personalities in the same battle." "Up to one" includes zero. He can move alone if you wish. He was worded this way on purpose. Jeff Alexander, "post for 21 October 2002", 22 Oct 2002
