Rules Q&A
- Q: How well does No One Wins combo with Surrender?
I'd assume you get the choice of an honor loss or not destroying your opponents cards.
Right?
A: No One Wins prevents all gains from destroying cards, so there's nothing for Surrender to turn into losses. It becomes a choice of destroying cards or not destroying cards, with no gains or losses either way. Jeff Alexander, "post for 29 August 2002", 30 Aug 2002 - Q: Is there anything wrong with doing the following?
I could play Deeds not words during my opponents action phase and then during his battle resolution, lets say he destroyes two of my cards, I play No one wins. Thus he is stopped from gaining honor from his "gardens" and "temples" AND I stop him from the additional honor that Deeds provides, right?
A: Right. Jeff Alexander, "post for 21 January 2002", 22 Jan 2002 - Q: Some friends of mine had a near brawl over the card No One Wins last night, I said I would ask their question, I wasn't around for the game. Card text: No One Wins Gold cost: 2 Focus: 3 "Costs 2 less Gold for Scorpion Clan players. Political Reaction: Play during battle resolution to prevent all honor gains from destroying cards during the battle's resolution."
The main question seems to be, does this card prevent the destruction of units from honor gains or does it prevent the gain of honor when the units are destroyed?
A: It prevents only the honor gains, not the actual destruction. Jeff Alexander, "post for 10 December 2001", 10 Dec 2001 - Q: This seems a good time to bring up the card I'm confused with: No One Wins.
Political Reaction: Play during battle resolution to prevent all honor gains from destroying cards during this battle's resolution.
Does this cards prevent card destruction if the winner wants to gain honor, on a card-for-card basis? Does it save the entire army? I'm also confused by the wording; I thought cards were destroyed then honor was given out. This card seems to say you gain honor, then destroy cards.
A: Just confirming here: this card only prevents the honor gain. Everything still dies that would have otherwise. Jeff Alexander, "post for 7 November 2001", 8 Nov 2001 - Q: Does that mean then that Kakita Shijin and Memorial won't work with No One Wins active?
A: They work. Those gains aren't from destroying cards. Jeff Alexander, "post for 7 November 2001", 8 Nov 2001
