Rules Q&A
- Q: If Norikazu Sensei was under Amnesia, and Unavoidable resolved, the Amnesia ended, would the turns left from Unavoidable still resolve, despite Nork?
A: Yes. Jeff Alexander, "post for 7 June 2002", 8 Jun 2002 - Q: Just a short question. Does Unavoidable Destiny resolve against a player using Norikazu Sensei?
A: No. It doesn't create a new victory condition. Jeff Alexander, "replies to 20 September 2001", 21 Sep 2001 - Q: (yesterday had a discussion on Norikazu over several Legacy games, hence the flood of questions... sorry).
Does No Mercy resolve if a Norikazu Sensei is in play?
A: No. Norikazu only allows Events that create a victory condition, not a loss condition. Jon Palmer, "No Mercy vs. Norikazu Sensei", 24 Jul 2013 - Q: This ruling: http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=71050
seems a bit contradictory to me with this older one:

If Strange Assembly creates a new victory condition, it should bypass Shoju Sensei, or the other way around. Am I missing something?
Thanks.
A: Both rulings are correct.
Strange Assembly does create a new victory condition. Its second sentence then says, "This does not apply to players unable to achieve an Honor Victory." So, at any time that you are prevented from achieving an Honor Victory, you are also prevented from achieving Strange Assembly's victory condition by its own text. Brook Cunningham, "Strange Assembly + Norikazu Sensei", 27 Sep 2008 - Q: Does Strange Assembly create a new victory condition or does it just modify an existing one?
A: New condition. If it modified an Honor Victory, it would say something like, "A player wins an Honor Victory immediately if..." Zen Faulkes, "Strange Assembly + Norikazu Sensei", 27 Sep 2008
