Rulings
- Ability may be used before units bow from battle. [ZF, 29 November 2002] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 45
- Q: How does Deeds, Not Words work with cards that give extra honor for winning battles and duels, like Famous Poet and Omoidasu? A: Unless the card giving you the extra gain clearly says it's modifying the standard gain for the battle or duel -- and neither of those cards do -- the extra gain is a separate gain coming from the generating card. Deeds, Not Words will turn it into a loss. Legend of the Five Rings FAQ, May 21, 2003, p. 13
Rules Q&A
- Q: Personality A and Personality B have Omoidasu attached, when does the Omoidasu get used exactly.
A: [MARTY] Omoidasu's ability get played immediately after "A" in the above timeline. The Province (and possibly army) gets destroyed, and you play Omoidasu after the army it is in, "destroys a Province or opposing army." Martin Lund, "Rules for 23 June 2004", 27 Jun 2004 - Q: Can you use the reaction on Omoidasu when you have a Wedge resolving on the same unit (destroying it)?
A: Yes. Choosing to use an ability is not targeting (Diamond Edition rules, pg. 73). Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 14 November 2003", 14 Nov 2003 - Q: If someone who has Toshimoko No Shiryo attached wins a duel, can Omoidasu be bowed to gain an extra 2 honor?
A: No. It is used "after this Personality wins a duel," which is during resolution, which is still during the duel. Jeff Alexander, "post for 20 May 2003", 21 May 2003 - Q: 2) I take a province and bow Omoidasu to gain two honor? lose two honor?
A: Lose 2. Jeff Alexander, "post for 21 January 2003", 22 Jan 2003 - Q: The wording on Omoidasu is a little unclear, but it seems that it bows after the battle, so if you want to gain two honour after destroying a province, you have to Rally, right?
A: You bow it after the destruction [card text], not after resolution. You don't have to rally. Jeff Alexander, "post for 2 December 2002", 3 Dec 2002
