Rules Q&A
- Q: And how does Once and Again actually work? Does the Event's effects repeat twice or what?
A: Once and Again allows an Event, by title, to resolve one additional time this game if revealed later in the game. This will typically be from another player's deck, though there are ways of reshuffling Events into one's deck. Jeff Alexander, "post for 26 May 2003", 29 May 2003 - Q: Would an Event that was targeted by Once and Again and then shuffled back to it's owner's deck by a Shrine of the Sun resolve another time?
A: If it is targeted with Once and Again, it may resolve one additional time, by title. Period. That is the effect of Once and Again.
If it was in your own discard pile AND you have not resolved it so far this game, its count for number-of-resolutions so far this game -- again, by title -- is reset to 0.
These effects are technically cumulative, but it's hard. Let's say someone else reveals and resolves Occult Murders. You react with Once and Again. Later, a second opponent reveals it. It resolves, too. Then you reveal it, discard it, and use Shrine of the Sun on it later. Now the game thinks Occult Murders has never resolved AND will allow it to resolve the next two times it's revealed, for any player. Jeff Alexander, "post for 26 May 2003", 29 May 2003 - Q: Does Shrine of the Sun's "If you have not resolved that Event this game, the Event no longer counts as having resolved this game" clause negate Once and Again?
A: No. Jeff Alexander, "post for 26 May 2003", 29 May 2003
