- Erratum: Renamed from Oni no Ogon. Was referred to as Oni no Titsu in some rulebook errata lists. [MRP, Fire & Shadow foil] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 118
- Prevents triggered stronghold effects (e.g., Mountain Keep of the Dragon increasing province strength, Sepulchre of Bone creating follower tokens) but not continuous effects (e.g, Shadowlands Horde's inability to gain or lose honor). [DW, 25 December 1996] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 118
- If brought into play by Unexpected Allies, it does not bow your stronghold but does prevent it from generating effects. [Partial reversal, DW, 6/9/97, JA, email, 20 March 2003] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 118
- Its three-turn lifespan only counts your full turns. [FAQ 3.1, 28 August 1996] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 118
- Also prevents triggered effects such as the Dragon Stronghold's, but does not inhibit continuous effects. [DW, l5rinfo, 12/25/96] Accumulated Rulings, February 8, 2000, p. 46
- Any time it enters or returns to play, such as with Feign Death, its three-turn timer resets. [ibid.] Accumulated Rulings, February 8, 2000, p. 46
Rules Q&A
- Q: question for OBH with Oni no Kamu and Kitsu Tombs. If a shugenja bows, when this guy enters play, does the second part that says "your stronghold cannot straighten" its also ignored? or that counts as a separate ongoing effect?
A: It's a separate continuous trait effect, not a triggered entering-play effect. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 4 Nov 2025 - Q: Arc: Jade Extended. Oni no Kamu and Kitsu Tombs. Kamu's trait is totally canceled by the SH or as its a trait the effect is continous and you have a blank SH during 3 turns until the oni is destroyed? https://images.oracleofthevoid.com/l5r/8e/6c/printing_5737_1_details.jpg
A: Kamu has 4 traits. The first is the Honor loss. The second is the bowing of the box. Both those won't happen as they are entering play effects. The third trait is continuous, not triggered by entering play, so Tombs can't stop it, nor will it stop the fourth that destroys him. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 8 Mar 2025
