Rules Q&A
- Q: And one last question on Tch'tch Warrens: Would Open Warfare and Amnesia have any effect on cards that have already been taken from another player's discard pile? I would think not, as the action had already been used and is simply having an ongoing effect.
Thanks, ~Brian
A: Eliminating the source of an Action or Ability won't stop the effects it has already produced, so you are correct again. Martin Lund, "Rules for 1 April 2004 (no jokes)", 3 Apr 2004 - Q: If I target a stronghold with Open Warfare, will it not be able to produce gold?

[Mod Edit: Link to Oracle fixed. -- MB2001]
A: Per Open Warfare's text, the Stronghold cannot produce Gold from any of its traits or abilities in its text box, but it CAN produce Gold from its Gold Production stat.
Gold Production is a stat of a Stronghold, neither an ability nor a trait, and it is the Rulebook/CR which explain that having this stat allows it to produce Gold when paying a Gold cost. Brook Cunningham, "Legacy: Open Warfare vs Gold production", 16 Jun 2012 - Q: Does Open Warfare still nuetralize Sensei for a turn?
A: No. Sensei abilities are no longer considered to be on the stronghold (Web of Lies rulesheet). Zen Faulkes, "Open Warfare vs Sensei", 9 Apr 2005 - Q: KB gets two Winds because of its trait. If that trait ceases to be effective (OPen Warfare, Amnesia), the implication, based on p.58, is that KB can only have one Wind.
A: Diamond rules, pg. 55: conditions for putting a card into play only matter when playing it. This situation exactly parallels Amnesia or Open Warfare and Khol Wall; second regions aren't discarded if a Khol Wall player's box is "erased." Zen Faulkes, "Kyuden Bayushi and Open Warfare/Amnesia", 30 Mar 2005 - Q: I play Open Warfare. Khol Wall's trait that allows to have 2 Regions on each province disappears. Does the Khol Wall player have to destroy a region on each province?
A: No; see here. (Edit: Correction.) Zen Faulkes, "Khol Wall, Regions, and Open Warfare", 17 Mar 2005
