Rules Q&A
- Q: Re: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=114139
I'm a little confused by the answer here, mostly the bit about imperial personalities being 2g cheaper than in EE. As I recall, Otomo Demiyah would have cost me 4G to recruit in EE - but he should cost 4G in IE/20F too, right?
A: He would always have cost you 4G, you wouldn't have had the option to buy him at 2G (like you would any other aligned 4G Personality). I'll clear that up in the other answer. Jon Palmer, "journey's end keep xp clarification", 8 Jul 2015 - Q: When you purchase Otomo Demiyah, I understand that the intent is that you gain 1 honor from her with her reaction.
But lets say, on a later turn, if I buy another Otomo Demiyah, can I use her reaction to gain an honor again (thus, gaining two honor, one from the in-play Demiyah, one from the now-entering-play Demiyah)? I ask because all that the interrupt is looking for is "after I recruit Demiyah".
Demiyah's Rules Text:
"Political Interrupt: After you Recruit Demiyah, a target player gains or loses 1 Honor."
Thank you rules team!
A: Self-referential text on cards only applies to that card itself, not other copies, unless it explicitly says so.
So, Demiyah would have to say, "After you Recruit a copy of Demiyah..." Brook Cunningham, "Otomo Demiyah's Reaction", 6 Sep 2014 - Q: [Strategy]: Suikihime's Sanction Kharmic Limited, 2GOLD: Discard a Kharmic card from your hand to draw a card. Limited: Permanently give your target non-Loyal, face-up Personality in or out of play your Clan Alignment. Focus Value: 4
Otomo Demiyah Unaligned Personality - UNCOMMON - 172 Force: 2, Chi: 3 Honor Requirement: -, Gold Cost: 4, Personal Honor: 2 Courtier • Imperial Interrupt: After you Recriut Demiyah, a target player gains or loses 1 Honor.
Question: If I play the strategy "Suikihime's Sanction" and on my province by targeting to Otomo Demiyah, Can proclaim and obtain 2 honor?
thanks for the answer!
A: Yes. Once Demiyah gains your clan alignment, you may Proclaim him. Jon Palmer, "Suikihime's Sanction", 26 Jan 2014
