Rules Q&A
- Q: Effectively, is an honor loss of 0 an honor loss?
A: No, it is not.
Family Honor: "An Honor gain of 0 points is not considered a gain for things that check whether a gain happened. Likewise, an Honor loss of 0 points is not considered a loss for such things. An Honor gain or loss of 0 points is not considered a gain or loss for things that check whether a gain or loss happened." Brook Cunningham, "Honor Loss, reduce to zero and Oyo Seido.", 22 May 2010 - Q: If I use enticement to steal an opponent's personality, and then have that personality perform an action that causes it's owner an honor loss (if It was a courtier have Assigned Guilt as an example) will that prevent that player from using Oyo Seido?
A: Arranged Guilt does not create an honour loss from either Personality: the honour loss is from Arranged Guilt.
See Glossary, From: The source is the card that the effect, action or targeting is printed on, or the rulebook if it is printed there. Alex Jones, "Oyo Seido", 25 Jan 2010 - Q: Hi guys,
Oyo Seido states that if you've lost honor from a card you control, you cannot use it's ability to gain honor. Does the death of a dishonorable personality count as a card you control, or is the honor loss based on a rulebook effect?
Togashi Azrael
A: The honor loss is from the Rulebook, not the card (see "From").
So, you may still use Oyo Seido's ability if you have lost honor from a dishonorable Personality of yours being destroyed.
Also, you're misquoting Oyo Seido slightly. Albeit not relevant to your question, I thought I'd mention that its ability is:
"Limited: If you have not lost Honor from cards you own this game and your Family Honor is 5 or lower: Gain 2 Honor." Brook Cunningham, "Oyo Seido", 24 Jan 2010
