Rules Q&A
- Q: If I play Political Entanglement on the Stone Breaker, what becomes of his "Does not die from having 0 Chi." ? Does he die now? Would he die if his Chi had been raised to one before (now making him 0 Chi) ?
A: Hm, you mean if you make it say, "Does not die from having -1 Chi?"
Sure, I guess that would work. It would never have -1 Chi as his Chi stat, and it would no longer have protection against death at 0 Chi. It probably should've been written with the "0" as "zero." Martin Lund, "Rules for 12 July 2004", 15 Jul 2004 - Q: What happens if I play 2x Political Entanglements on a Ratling Conjuror? My understanding, based on the rulings on the Night Medallion is that it becomes: Ratling Conjuror 0F (actually -1F), 0chi, 2g, 0PH (actually -2PH). Cannot attach spells with a gold cost above 1. Open: Bow Ratling Conjuror and discard a card from your hand to give all Ratling Cards -1F.
A: Political Entanglements and the Night Medallion are worded slightly differently. The former reduces a numeral by 1, the other adds +2. For Political Entanglements to exactly parallel Night Medallion, it would have to "add -1" or something.
I'm going to chicken out and leave this one for Jeff. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 20 August 2003", 20 Aug 2003 - Q: Can Political Entanglements (PEs)turn a bonus on a Personality into a penalty?
A: No (Gold Edition rulebook, pg. 31). Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 19 August 2003, Part 2", 20 Aug 2003
