Rules Q&A
- Q: If a Ratling with a printed Tribe trait has a stronger form later on without the Tribe trait he once had, does the stronger form still count as being part of the Tribe he once was (for the purposes of cards like Ratling Nameseeker)?
A: No. The card either has the trait or lacks the trait. Overlaid Personalities do not not retain the traits of less experienced versions underneath, nor do more Experienced versions of Personalities have any traits from previous incarnations that aren't printed on this level of the card. This applies not only to tribe traits, but Faction traits (see also, "The Grey Crane"), and any other kind of Trait. Martin Lund, "Rules for 4 September 2004", 8 Sep 2004 - Q: Are ratling personalities in provinces and the discard pile considered to be "in the game"? Are ratling personalities still in the deck, provinces, and discard pile considered "my Ratling Personalities?"
A: Yes (Diamond rules, pg. 101). No (Diamond rules, pg. 15). Zen Faulkes, "targeting with A'tck and Ratling Nameseeker", 9 Apr 2005
