Rules Q&A
- Q: Does it allows a player to play action cards after a Great Silence? Or play a terrain after a Winter Warfare? Or target a personality with a Kitsuki Kaagi's Journal's personality with a BSL? Play any action from out of the battle under the effect of a Ravine?
A: Yes, yes, no, yes. Jeff Alexander, "post for 9 October 2001", 9 Oct 2001 - Q: - use the Imperial Favor in a battle under the effects of a Ravine?
A: Yes. It's not an action on a card. Jeff Alexander, "replies to 22-23 September 2001", 24 Sep 2001 - Q: I am a little confused. I checked Oracle of the Void and it looks like that Ravine would exclude any printed action on a card not at the current battlefield.
A: Yes, that's correct. Brook Cunningham, "Legacy: Ravine vs. Halls of the Damned", 20 Jun 2012 - Q: Am I right, that currently, if the action isn't printed on a card physically at the current battlefield, Ravine stops it?
A: Correct, if by "stops it", you mean, "makes it illegal to take" (and that's of course excepting actions that would destroy Ravine or move units to its battlefield, per its text).
However, this question did bring to my attention the unrelated point that in the specific case of Halls of the Damned, at the time of Ravine's printing, Strongholds were not considered "cards". So, Ravine's Oracle text has been adjusted to reflect this. Brook Cunningham, "Legacy: Ravine vs. Halls of the Damned", 20 Jun 2012
