Rules Q&A
- Q: Return of Myth Each Nonhuman Personality gains +1F/+1C. Each Nonhuman Follower gain +1F.
Will this card last until the end of turn or until the end of game? If it's the latter, will it only affect the nonhumans already in play or will it also affect the nonhumans that came into play afterwards?
A: It's a one-time effect, only affecting cards currently in play and lasting until the end of the turn (by default, due to there being no stated duration).
I'm sorry, I can't recall or find documentation of how that Event may have been ruled to work when it was tournament-legal. However, this ruling on a card with nearly identical wording supports my interpretation. Brook Cunningham, "Return of Myth", 15 Sep 2008 - Q: How long does the force and chi bonus from Return of Myth (event) last? Also, I assume it only affects nonhumans that are in play when the event fires off, so if I'm wrong on that please correct me
A: Return of Myth says, "Open: Give each Nonhuman Personality +1F/+1C and give each Nonhuman Follower +1F." No duration is specified, so it's just until the end of the turn. And it only affects Personalities and Followers in play at the time you take the action (or reveal the Event, if you're playing by pre-Ivory rules).
