Rules Q&A
- Q: Relevant text:
Kyuden Kitsune Your forests are maddening. Negate the first movement each battle into attacking armies at your provinces' battlefields from other players' actions.
[C]ould he move anyone to Province A after playing Asset Denial (while we were at the first battle)?
A: Again, in the example you gave, yes he could. Brook Cunningham, "Movement and Kyuden Kitsune Exp.", 5 Aug 2012 - Q: If I use a Ninja personality without followers to Ambush another players personality, may I play Asset Denial to move to a province controlled by that player? I don't believe so, but I want to be sure. If I can, what happens next?
A: No.
Ambush only creates one battlefield, and it's not at a province: no provinces have battlefields unless an effect (usually, the Rulebook Effect during an Attack Phase's Declaration Segment) has created such battlefields.
Thus, the only "in play" locations during an Ambush's battle are home and the battlefield created by Ambush. Alex Jones, "Ambush vs. Asset Denial", 1 Mar 2012 - Q: Can cards such as Asset Denial and Aramoro's Promise discard regions?
A: Not if the Region is already in play, attached to a Province.
http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Areas_of_the_ga ... of_play.29: "Cards attached to a Province are not 'in,' nor can be discarded 'from,' that Province."
Asset Denial discards a card "in" a province; Aramoro's Promise discards "from" a Province. Neither will touch a region attached. Zen Faulkes, "Asset Denial", 11 Dec 2011 - Q: Can I use Asset Denial to make my opponent discard a region from his province.
A: I'm unsure if exactly what you mean by "in a province" here.
If there is a region face-up in the province that has not yet attached to the province, yes, you can discard it.
If the region has already attached to the province, it is no longer "in a province" per Asset Denial's text and cannot be discarded. Jon Palmer, "Asset Denial and regions", 28 Sep 2011
