Rules Q&A
- Q: Situation. Lion player attacking, Unicorn player defending Unicorn player has Shinjo X with Ancestral Armor of the Unicorn Clan attached (bowed) Lion player brings Shinjo X into the battle with Determined Challenge. Ancestral Armor of the Unicorn Clan still bowed Unicorn players moves home with random ability. Ancestral Armor of the Unicorn Clan still bowed
Question: If Lion player brings Shinjo X into the battle with Roaming Caravan, can the Unicorn player stop the movement with the Armor? 1. No. Roaming Caravan is "Straighten his unit and move him there". Straighten and move happen simultaneously. Armor is still bowed at Interrupt window. 2. Yes. Straighten happens before interrupt window. Can use Armor to stop the movement
Many thanks!
Roaming Caravan Battle, Bow : Target another player's Personality at any location who was moved home from the current battlefield. Straighten his unit and move him there.
Ancestral Armor of the Unicorn Clan Interrupt, Bow : The action cannot move Personalities.
A: All Interrupts are declared before the action's effects take place, so since the Armor was bowed at that point, its Interrupt may not be declared even though it's going to straighten later.
Also, note that the Ancestral Armor of the Unicorn's Interrupt does not have the Home keyword, so even if it was unbowed, you couldn't use it in the situation described. Jon Palmer, "Roaming Caravan vs Ancestral Armor of the Unicorn Clan", 6 Jun 2014
