Rules Q&A
- Q: A player wins immediately through an Enlightenment Victory when he or she has in play five Ring cards, each with a different element keyword, and each of which last entered play by its own text (as opposed to other effects that can put a Ring into play).
A: Since the Ring enters play due to the text of Rosoku's Staff, not the Ring itself, it won't help you achieve Enlightenment.
For more information, look here. Martin Lund, "Rosoku's Staff and Enlightenment", 30 Jul 2007 - Q: Are effects that change win conditions permanent by default?
A: Let's see... (Zen chacks calendar) It's been nine years and a few months since A Terrible Oath and The Iron Citadel came out with a similarly worded effect, and nobody thought to ask in all that time. People played those as permanent. Zen Faulkes, "Effects on win conditions. Rosoku's Staff", 21 Jan 2006 - Q: Does the 'You may not win on Enlightenment' clause on the errated Rosoku's Staff end at the end of turn?
A: Have to say no. Though I agree it could be explicit. Zen Faulkes, "Effects on win conditions. Rosoku's Staff", 21 Jan 2006
