Rules Q&A
- Q: my question regards the combining of range attacks of items and the Personalities they are attached to.
Take for example Ryouko the Phoenix favourite immortal rooster. He has a Yumi of Fire attached. Can I combine the Yumi's Range Attack with the innate range attack of Ryouko? If not why?
A: You'd need to combine the Ryouko's attach with the first RA of the Yumi's action, since it makes 2 consecutive attacks, and you have to declare Combined Ranged Attacks when the Action is announced, before targeting. Martin Lund, "Rules for 10 July 2004", 11 Jul 2004 - Q: Ryouko says that when it dies, you may permanently increase its Honor Requirement by 6 and return it to the top of your Dynasty deck instead of putting it into your Discard Pile.
This is no problem. What I want to know is, face-up or face-down? It's not Shuffled back in, so there is nothing to imply it has to go face-down to me. Is there some ruling made in past concerning cards that go to the top of decks that dictate their revealed/hidden state?
A: Unless an effect explicitly instructs you to have a card in a deck face-up, all cards in decks are kept face-down, as per the basic set-up instructions from pages 51-53 in the Diamond Edition Rulebook. Martin Lund, "Rules for 24 May 2004", 27 May 2004
