Rules Q&A
- Q: Player A plays Lion. He has an Akodo`s Guidance in play and is attacking with a 3PH personality (i.e. Ikoma Hagio). Thanks to the Guidance Hagio has 4PH while attacking.
Player B defends with Seppun Tashime exp. (4PH).
Can Player A discard the Guidance and destroy Ikoma Hagio to destroy Tashime? Or would the action fail, because the +1PH bonus is gone (Hagio is dead and no longer attacking), before Tashime would be destroyed?
Thank you!
Akodo`s Guidance Kami • Unique Attacking Lion Clan Personalities have +1F and +1PH. Battle: If you are a Lion Clan player, discard this card and destroy your target Lion Clan Personality: Destroy a target enemy Personality with equal or lower Personal Honor.
A: The targeting requirement ("enemy Personality with equal or lower Personal Honor") is checked before costs are paid, ie before Hagio is destroyed.

I am a little confused. I was under the impression that since both versions of Tashime have the same name and both have the Unique keyword, you cannot have both in play unless the exp overlays the non-exp. I understand that I can have 4 Doji Ayano's in play, 3x the non-unique and 1x the unique, but all versions of Tashime are unique. Have I been playing wrong for all these years?
A: Fixed. Apologies for the error. Dan Jacobson, "Both Seppun Tashime in play", 18 Apr 2010 - Q: I read the rules on Unique and Experienced personalities, but I can't figure this one out.
If I have both Seppun Tashime, and Seppun Tashime XP in my deck, can both be in play at the same time as different units, or the only option is to overlay the XP on the other one?
A: EDIT: Right, both are unique. You cannot have more than one Unique card with the same title in play under your control at the same time. You may not have both in play at once. You may of course overlay the XP Seppun Tashime onto basic Seppun Tashime. Dan Jacobson, "Both Seppun Tashime in play", 18 Apr 2010 - Q: Seppun Tashime Exp. reads "Battle: Bow a target unit."
The Last One reads "Open: Target your Personality: Destroy all of your other Personalities. If this destroyed at least four Personalities, permanently give your targeted Personality +4F, and until the end of the game, negate effects of other player's actions that bow, dishonor, move, or destroy him."
If someone has used The Last One on a personality and attached some items/spells to that personality. Would the negation from The Last One prevent everything from bowing or just the personality?
A: Just the personality.
The Last One's negation only applies to effects on that personality. If an effect would affect more than just the personality (i.e. his unit or another personality) it will still affect those targets, just not the personality that is The Last One.
