Rules Q&A
- Q: Shinjo Emiko's ability reads: Recon Limited: Target a province. Other players may not use abilities on cards in play at other locations (except Strongholds) during battles at that province's battlefield.
The question arising in my store is how does this work versus the imperial favors send home ability? Our interpritation is the Favor is a token, hence not present in any region. Is this accurate?
A: The Battle rulebook ability that requires discarding the Imperial Favor as a cost is just that, an ability in the rulebook. It does not come from a card and is thus not affected by Shinjo Emiko's ability. Dan Jacobson, "Shinjo Emiko vs Imperial Favor", 28 Jun 2010 - Q: Hi,
Recon Limited: Target a province. Other players may not use abilities on cards in play at other locations (except Strongholds) during battles at that province's battlefield.
With this ability active, does it include such things as Rings and holdings (that i think are classed as being in play at their owner's home?), or does it just cover personalities, their attachments and regions?
A: Holdings and Rings are also in play. They are covered. Any card in play (not in provinces, discard piles, decks or hand) is covered, except for Strongholds. Dan Jacobson, "Shinjo Emiko", 25 Jan 2010
