- Discarding cards is a cost of challenging Shono. [DW, 6 June 2000] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 123
Rules Q&A
- Q: b) If an opponent's Test of the Emerald Champion, or any other such "issue a challenge to a player" challenge is accepted by Shinjo Shono, must the opponent discard cards to continue the duel?
A: No. The challenge was already issued. It's too late to add a cost to it...and besides, Shono himself was not challenged. Jeff Alexander, "post for 19 March 2002", 20 Mar 2002
