Rules Q&A
- Q: Recon Open: During battles at a target province this turn, your non-Shadowlands Hare Clan and Unaligned Human Personalities have +1F. Assumptions for this question: 1) Playing out of Stronghold Shiro Usagi ; 2) Event "The Portals Open" (I think) when revealed, allows me to align my personalities, some of whom may (will!) be nonhuman, to Hare.
I understand the action on Heiji means that I may have two different classes of targets, each of which may have +1F. Must I interpret the first class as "non-Shadowlands Hare Clan" "Human Personalities" or may I merely interpret it as "non-Shadowlands Hare Clan Personalities" ? (In the latter case, the nonhumans may gain the boost.)
A: Started a discussion with Rules and Design teams on this one, I'll update this thread when we figure it out. Chris Fuchs, "Usagi Heiji (TTT) Recon Open interpretation", 25 Sep 2007 - Q: Am I correct in assuming that a Hare Clan personality who performed an action which destroyed himself as a cost or effect can be moved back into my home with the reaction on Shiro Usagi?
A: Rules, Glossary, Move: "To change a unit’s location between battlefields or between home and battlefield..." Zen Faulkes, "Shiro Usagi + Destroyed Personalities", 16 Jul 2007 - Q: Can I use loyal personalities from different clans with Shiro Usagi?
A: No. Zen Faulkes, "Shiro Usagi + Loyals", 20 Jun 2007 - Q: Lady of the Forest Sensei + Shiro Usagi: If I am running the pair together in a Legacy/Open event, do my Fox Clan Personalities gain the Hare Clan trait?
A: Tentatively, Shiro Usagi cannot use "all clans" sensei (which effectively means, "No sensei," I suppose). When printed, "clan" meant "faction as specified in the rulebook," and Hare was not and is not a faction. Zen Faulkes, "Shiro Usagi + Lady of the Forest Sensei", 12 Jun 2007 - Q: Lotus rulebook doesn't mention Shiro Usagi / Hare
A: It's only a Faction/Clan Alignment while its Stronghold is in play and the trait on it is active. Also, it was made after the base set, so it wouldn't be in the Rulebook either way; I don't think the SE Rulebook mentions it either though, for the first reason I gave.
