Rules Q&A
- Q: When the Egg of Pan Ku comes into play, it copies someone. If it copies an Oni, can Shokansuru pay for the Egg? If it copies a Shadowlands personality, can Shadowlands-only gold pay for it?
A: No. At the time you are paying for it, it is an Action Card.
Playing that Action Card is considered to be "bringing a Shadowlands Card into play," but that does not make the Card itself Shadowlands until it hits play and creates its own effects to become so. Martin Lund, "Rules for 26 April 2004", 29 Apr 2004 - Q: Can Shokansuru pay for an onisu?
A: No. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 10 October 2003", 10 Oct 2003 - Q: Whats a summon card?
A: Keyword rule, Diamond rules, pg. 63. Zen Faulkes, "Shokansuru and Summon", 17 Mar 2005 - Q: The first one is Kitsu Hayako, lets assume I invest (either one) and then I either have Kitsu Aya or Shokansuru in play... Hayako dies in battle lets say... and I go to respond to the death.
A: Ok. When you Recruit a Personality, you have the option before paying to permanently increase their Gold Cost by the Invest cost to get the Invest effect.
Let's pretend Hayako only has the (2) Invest for simplicity here. You first brought in Hayako normally, Invested her up to 6 and got your created guy. Then, she dies and you Respond to Recruit her again. You can now to choose to permanently increase her 6G cost up to 8GC and get the effect of creating a guy again, or just Recruit her for 6GC and nothing additional happens.
