Rules Q&A
- Q: I have two provinces : 1 and 2. Latomu is in an attacking army at province 1, I have defenders in province 2, where barricades are attached. We resolve battle 1, my opponent moves Latomu in battle 2 and wants to use his reaction to make a ranged attack. Do the barricades prevent him to do his ranged attack or not ?
A: No, they do not. The phrase "before the defender's action" isn't read literally (Rules Archive, General Rules, Battle). Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 5 October 2003, Part 2", 5 Oct 2003 - Q: Does Barricades allow the defender first action during Naval invasions?
A: Yes. It does not stop the other restrictions due to making a Naval invasion from applying. Note that the Naval army's leader does not have to declare the battle a naval invasion if he does not want to. Jeff Alexander, "post for 3 April 2003", 4 Apr 2003 - Q: i just checked the cards out once more Barricades stops an action or effect. What is Naval invasion? Is It rule book effect, or card effect?
A: It's a rulebook effect. Jeff Alexander, "post for 6 August 2002", 6 Aug 2002
