Rules Q&A
- Q: [6]. Ruby of Iuchiban + Dead
If I target a personality and dies remainf the ruby effects on him while the ruby remains bowed? What if returns to play with a Feign Death or Shrine to Tsukune?
A: The effect will continue even if the victim leaves play. However, cards that are not in play are neither bowed, nor unbowed. Further, most cards enter play unbowed.
With Feign Death, you are told that your Personality returns to play bowed. Shrine to Tsukune does not say this (if I recall correctly), so the Personality would enter play unbowed, but still be unable to Straighten. Martin Lund, "Rules for 11 December 2004", 13 Dec 2004 - Q: This is not a Code of Bushido question, so when I mention "bringing a Wind into play", you have to assume I'm bringing, say, Doji Kurohito into play - maybe multiple times, 'cause I'm also using Shrine to Tsukune. In the future, when CoB releases, there might be easier ways to do it, but I'd like an answer quickly...
Say I have the Underhand in play, and, because I got careless, one of its abilities got removed by Same Old Tricks. Then my Underhand is removed from the game, and I bring one into play - from outside the game, I suppose.
Does it get its abilities back? (I assume it does)
Now, more tricky, and potentially more abusable.
Does it "remember" which Political action cards I've already fetched with it?
A: Nothing says you have to bring the same copy of the Wind Card into play each time. I'm thinking about Doji Tanitsu Experienced and Suitengu's Surge in Diamond Edition in particular. Each time Tanitsu enters play while you do not control a copy of Underhand of the Emperor, you can bring any copy of Underhand of the Emperor you own into play from outside of the game.
You could grab one you've already used, or one that you've never used before. The one's you've never used before aren't impacted by other copies of the card any more than your third copy of Doji Domotai is impacted by something that dealt with your first copy of her.
It seems very strange because Winds are normally a one-per-player sort of card, but all the standard principles apply until Jeff decides otherwise. Martin Lund, "Bringing Winds into play", 19 Aug 2005
