Rules Q&A
- Q: I couldn't find anything in the archives to answer this question, so my apologies if it's been asked before in similar manner.
Shrine to Yoritomo Relevant Text: Your personalities have +1F while they have an attachment.
Oni-Daikyu Relevant Text: Battle: Destroy this card: Destroy a target enemy Follower, or Personality without Followers, with greater Force than this Personality.
Does Oni-Daikyu check the enemy Follower or Personality's Force before or after its destruction?
Example: I have a 3F Personality with an Oni-Daikyu (and no other attachments) at a battle. I also control Shrine to Yoritomo, meaning my Personality is 4F. My opponent controls a 4F Personality with no Followers. Can I use the action on Oni-Daikyu to destroy the enemy Personality, since he will have more Force than my Personality after the attachment is destroyed?
A: Remember the order of taking actions
A) Announce Action B) Declare Targets --->Force is checked here, so in your situation the 4F personality would be an illegal target C)Pay Costs --->Kaboom goes the Daikyu assuming you had a legal target D)Effects --->Kaboom goes the follower or personality assuming you had a legal target E) Action has resolved Dan Jacobson, "Shrine to Yoritomo + Oni-Daikyu", 14 Apr 2010
