Rules Q&A
- Q: Ok, then... Suiteiru no Oni's Token have no real chi, so they have always 0 chi.
Now, let's think of Skeletal Troops. If I have a Skeletal Troop in the current battle, and I play Bloodspeaker Ambush. Do my Skeletal Troop become a 3/2 Follower or a 3/+2 follower ?
A: If you give a 2F, 0C card a +1F, +2C bonus, it becomes a 3F, 2C card.
Cards only have a "+X" stat if they come with it printed (like most Weapons and Armor), or some effect says that they do. In the case of Skeletal Troops, neither condition is true, so they do not wind up with a Chi stat of "+2" but merely "2." Martin Lund, "Rules for 6 October 2004", 11 Oct 2004 - Q: If I used Iaijtusu Duel to destroy Voitagi with two Skeletal Troops on it, do I get credit for destroying the Skeletal Troops (so 6 honor and taint 3?).
A: No. Jeff Alexander, "post for 25 March 2003", 26 Mar 2003 - Q: http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=110667&p=1445355#p1445355
I think the above has gotten side tracked and missed the key question
If In combine an unstoppable fear, ranged or melee with a normal one, is it still unstoppable?
Daigotsu Takahide - Unstoppable Battle: Fear 3 has attached Skeletal Troops - Battle: Fear 3
I announce Takahide's action, combine the Skeletal Troops so I now have Fear 6 Question is: Is the Fear 6 Unstoppable or Normal
I would have thought it would have been normal based under the "Fear through Followers" rulings viewtopic.php?f=59&t=108529&p=1426454&hilit=zlkyt+family#p1426454
Can you confirm?
Thanks
A: An Unstoppable Battle action does not lose Unstoppable just because you have Interrupt'd it with a non-Unstoppable Interrupt. Alex Jones, "Combining unstoppable and "stoppable" actions", 31 Oct 2014 - Q: Ok that's what I thought, So skeletal troops has an updated definition vs. Zombie troops still had just: fear 3. So I wanted to clarify that basic fear effects were all updated They used to be all followers with lower force back in the day so that's much better And by updated: I mean the newer print of zombie troops has a definition written on it that includes personalities
A: Oh, right, it did. That's an overall Rules change. The paranthetical and italicized text on Skeletal Troops isn't an "update" to the card itself, it's reminder text for how the Rules work. Brook Cunningham, "Oracle of the Void #rules", 13 Jun 2021
