Rules Q&A
- Q: Hey all, just a quick question:
There are cards such as Summoned to Justice and Remember Your Ancestors that say "target your courtier in any location." Now as they're battle actions, do I still require presence at the battle to use them?
A: Yes, you still need to meet the Rule of Presence.
The clause you quoted (inaccurrately, point of fact; choosing a performer =/= targeting these days) waives the Rule of Location. For a Battle action to ignore the Rule of Presence, it would have the text, "Even if you control no units at the current battlefield". Brook Cunningham, "Various Courtier Battle Actions", 25 Apr 2012 - Q: Does Summoned to Justice meet the requirements for presence at a battle in which I have no Personalities in?
A: No.
The text concerns the forthcoming Rule of Location in Samurai Edition. Zen Faulkes, "Summoned to Justice and presence", 28 May 2007
